Lassila & Tikanoja is an over 100 years old company and was formed as a result of multiple mergers and acquisitions. This has resulted in several, overlapping systems within the company. The ERP strategy aimed at setting guidelines for future ERP development, reducing overlapping systems and improving systems lifecycle management. The outcome is, that Lassila & Tikanoja gained clear guidance for future ERP systems acquisition and maintenance, as well as a development roadmap for the coming years.
Midagon helped in the ERP strategy work by evaluating the current state, clarifying ERP megatrends, improving the understanding of the ERP market evolution and catalyzing discussions through various strategy scenarios and guideline proposals. Based on this, we formulated a development roadmap and investment framework together with the customer's team. The work combined knowledge from within Lassila & Tikanoja's organization, Midagon's consultants competence and information from the selected ERP vendors.
The ERP strategy work catalyzed a lot of discussion, which deepened the common understanding of the current state of ERP systems in Lassila & Tikanoja. It also clarified the insights on the ERP market turmoil and helped to prepare for the changes ahead. A joint ERP vision for business and IT was formed, with both sides committed to implementing it.
