A key player in Swedish payment infrastructure needed support in the completion of a major prestudy regarding payment standards and possible system changes. Midagon (previously FiDo Consulting) was asked to manage the internal work in coordination with internal operational specialists, business development and IT, as well as change management and communication towards external stakeholders such as banks and financial institutions.
Midagon was entrusted with a team of two consultants to run the study and change management for about six months. The work involved management, steering group reporting, collaboration, and communication with internal and external stakeholders, and facilitating discussion and analysis within the business team.
The result was a prestudy including feasibility assessments. A commonly understood implementation plan highlighted the risks and formed a base for decision-making. One of the benefits of using external resources in this phase was - according to the management - that it allowed them to make more efficient use of internal resources that needed to be part of both the program as well as the daily operations.
After the first phase of the prestudy, Midagon was asked to form a frame agreement – supporting the bank with a specialist in the continued work involving planning for the years to come.
