Mika Alastalo joined Midagon in April 2025. Let's get to know him a bit better!
I have around 30 years of experience in industrial companies, from both a listed, globally operating market leader and a mid-size, highly valued, and successful fast-growing company. During my career, I have worked one part in production, then in global supply chain and logistics, and recent phase in the company management team with a more generic role. The common theme in all of these has been global supply chains and achieving profitable growth faster than the competition.
From all those over 10 different leadership roles, I have experience from manufacturing via global supply chains to strategy creation and programs of a company. Throughout my career, I have managed diverse transformation projects related to production, supply footprint, distribution network and organisational structures – all strongly linked to process and productivity improvements, digitalisation, automation, enterprise resource planning, reporting and sustainability.
I have learned that there is never too much communication. Transparency and alignment between people involved are prerequisites for smooth and fast progress. As a person I’m optimistic, analytical and used to working with a diverse mix of nationalities, trusting the power of teamwork.
As a company, Midagon is forward-looking, growth-minded, and supported by a great number of experienced and knowledgeable team members, with a positive atmosphere.
In my free time, I like sports in several forms, travel, forestry, and being with the family. Due to time limitations, my sport is often just gym or something outdoors. My background in countryside activities is linked to our farm in South-East Finland.
